Specificity
This antibody binds CA242, which is a carbohydrate tumor marker, closely related, but not identical, to CA 19-9 and CA 50. It is commonly tested along with CEA, CA19-9 for detecting pancreatic cancer. This protein is overexpressed in malignant tumors and has been clinically used as a diagnostic biomarker for pancreatic, colorectal and other cancers.

The original antibody was generated by immunizing mice with CA50 protein.
Application Notes
The binding reactivity of this antibody to CA50 tumor marker was determined using indirect ELISA. This antibody was also used in the immunofluorescence staining of pancreatic cancer cells expressing CA50 (CN108424455).
