Isotype
Engineer antibody
Species Reactivity
Rat
Clone No.

From
Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
This antibody is specific for Kir2.2. It shows no cross-reactivity against Kir2.1 or Kir2.3. Kir2.2 is an inward rectifying potassium channel that is activated by phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate and that probably participates in controlling the resting membrane potential in electrically excitable cells. Probably participates in establishing action potential waveform and excitability of neuronal and muscle tissues.
Alternative Names

Immunogen
This antibody was raised against a synthetic peptide of amino acids 390-410 of rat Kir2.2.
Application Notes
FDB and IO muscles of mice were immunoblotted with this antibody (DiFranco et al, 2015; PMID:25545278).

Note on publication
It was found that Kir2.1 and Kir2.2 channels were targeted to both the surface and the transverse tubular system membrane (TTS) compartments and that both isoforms can be overexpressed up to 3-fold 2 weeks after transfection.
