Name | Anti-KA2 kainate receptor mAbs |
Clone No. | AFD-N279B/27R |
From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | ICC, WB, IHC |
Species Reactivity | Rat, Mouse |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody is specific for KA2 kainate receptor. It does not cross-react with KA1. This is a Receptor for glutamate. L-glutamate acts as an excitatory neurotransmitter at many synapsees in the central nervous system. The postsynaptic actions of Glu are mediated by a variety of receptors that are named according to their selective agonists. This receptor binds kainate > quisqualate > glutamate >> AMPA. |
Alternative Name | Glutamate receptor ionotropic, kainate 5; Grik5; GluK5; Glutamate receptor KA-2; KA2; N279B/27 |
UniProt | Q63273 |
Immunogen | This antibody was raised by immunizing a mouse with fusion protein amino acids 825-979 (cytoplasmic C-terminus) of rat KA2 kainate receptor. |
Application Notes | This antibody is recommended for detection and analysis of KA2 kainate receptor by immunocytochemistry, immunohistochemistry or western blot. For instance, the mouse version of this antibody was used to detect KA2 kainate receptor by western blot in crude brain membrane preparations from adult rat or wild-type or KA2 knockout mice. |
Antibody First Published | Andrews et al. A toolbox of IgG subclass-switched recombinant monoclonal antibodies for enhanced multiplex immunolabeling of brain eLife. 2019; 8: e43322. PMID:30667360 |
Note on publication | Describes the generation of a library of recombinant monoclonal antibodies (R- mAbs) from a pool of mAb-producing hybridomas for neuroscience research. |
