Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody is specific for CD15 (Appelmelk. et al, 1996, pmid:8675304). It also shows crossreactivity with the CD15 antigen from other species. |
Alternative Name | sLeX; Lewis X antigen; Leu-M1; Sialyl-Lewis X; SSEA-1; sialyl LeX |
UniProt | |
Immunogen | This antibody was raised by immunzing mice with human CD15. |
Application Notes | This antibody has been used in flow cytometry (Appelmelk. et al, 1996). The antibody has been shown to be usefull in immunohistochemistry (Appelmelk. et al, 1996). The antibody is utilized in immunopercipitation (Akin. et al, 2000). Immunofluorescence is a proven application of this antibody (Vilella. et al, 2003). CD15 is expressed in Reed-Sternberg cells, which are a sign of Hodgkin's lymphoma, and thus the antibody can be used in immunohistochemistry to detect this kind of cancer (Trillo-Tinoco. et al, 2019). Finally, BRA-4F1 can be used in fertility research as the CD15 antigen is a molecule that is nessecary for a sperm cell to recognize and fertilize an egg cell. |
