From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | Block, ELISA |
Species Reactivity | Human |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody binds human CD18 and recognizes amino acid residues between 122 and 344, more particularly amino acids from two regions 123–163 and 302–344 of the human CD18 molecule (PMID: 10779511). Binding of CD18 and CD11 results in the formation of Lymphocyte Functions Associated Antigen 1 (LFA-1), a protein found on B cells, all T cells, macrophages, neutrophils and NK cells. LFA-1 is involved in adhesion and binding to antigen presenting cells through interactions with the surface protein ICAM-1. |
Alternative Name | ITGB2; MFI7; Integrin beta-2; Cell surface adhesion glycoproteins LFA- 1/CR3/p150.95 subunit beta; Complement receptor C3 subunit beta; β2-subunit of leukocyte integrins |
UniProt | P05107 |
Immunogen | The original antibody was generated by immunizing DA rats with human neutrophils. |
Application Notes | The original rat IgG2b version of this antibody was successful in blocking CD18. The human IgG1 version of this antibody was able to block CD18 but unable to bind human Clq and did not mediate antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (PMID: 7688398). This antibody was used as one of the antibodies to study the Aeffect of anti-LFA-1 panel of abs on T cell adhesion to ICAM-1 and ICAM-3 using ELISA (PMID: 7518468). |
