From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | therapeutic, ELISA, FC, IF, IHC |
Species Reactivity | Mouse |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody is specific for CD1d. Its binding is blocked by antibody clone 3D11. CD1d is an antigen-presenting protein that binds self and non-self glycolipids and presents them to T-cell receptors on natural killer T-cells. |
Alternative Name | Antigen-presenting glycoprotein CD1d1; Cd1d1; CD1d.1 |
UniProt | P11609 |
Immunogen | The original version of this antibody was raised by immunizing Lewis rats using mCD1- transfected RMA-S cells. |
Application Notes | In an attempt to further the understanding of CD1 proteins, flow cytometry was preformed on mouse spleen cells using the rat version of this antibody. Further, mice infected with L. monocytogenes were treated with the rat version of this antibody. Finally, mice spleen cells were stained with the mouse version of this antibody (Szalay et al, 1999; pmid:10358132). To investigate the tissue distribution of murine CD1 in mice, immunohistochemistry was preformed on thymus, small intestine, and spleen tissue of mice using the rat version of this antibody. Further, flow cytometry was preformed on epithelial cells and IEL using the rat version of this antibody (Brassay et al, 1997; pmid:9233616). In order to measure mCD1-restricted T cell responses to glycolipids, the rat version of this antibody was added after which cytokine levels were assessed by ELISA (Burdin et al, 1998; pmid:9759842). To assess the role of CD1 in the pathogenesis of lupus the rat version of this antibody was used for immunofluorescent staining and flow cytometry on single cell suspensions of mouse spleen cells or mouse bone marrow. |
