Name | Anti-CD227 mAbs |
Clone No. | AFD- 175C5 |
From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | WB, FC, IHC |
Species Reactivity | Human |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody is specific for human CD227. The alpha subunit of CD227 has cell adhesive properties. It can act both as an adhesion and an anti-adhesion protein. May provide a protective layer on epithelial cells against bacterial and enzyme attack. |
Alternative Name | Mucin-1; MUC1; Breast carcinoma-associated antigen DF3; Cancer antigen 15-3; CA 15-3; Carcinoma-associated mucin; Episialin; H23AG; Krebs von den Lungen-6; KL-6; PEMT; Peanut-reactive urinary mucin; PUM; Polymorphic epithelial mucin; PEM; Tumor-associated epithelial membrane antigen; EMA; Tumor-associated mucin |
UniProt | P15941 |
Immunogen | The mouse version of this antibody was raised by immunizing a BALB/c mouse with milkfat globule membranes. |
Application Notes | To characterize 13 different ovarian cancer xenografts, immunohistochemistry was performed different human ovarian cancer cell lines using the mouse version of this antibody. It only stained most tissues moderately (Molthoff et al, 1991; pmid:1985883). To determine whether the appearance of tumour-associated macin epitopes can be explained by altered post translational modification of mucin in tumours, flow cytometry was used on EBY-immortalized B-cells and Burkitt's lymphomas using the mouse version of this antibody (Jerome et al, 1992; pmid:1382849). To study three antigenic systems for their use as tumour toxins, a western blot was performed on the human mammary carcinoma cell line MBMDA-23 1 and the colon carcinoma cell line SW 1222 using the mouse version of this antibody (Wick and Groner, 1997; pmid:9459206). |
Antibody First Published | Molthoff et al. Human ovarian cancer xenografts in nude mice: characterization and analysis of antigen expression Int J Cancer. 1991 Jan 2;47(1):72-9. PMID:1985883 |
Note on publication | 13 different human ovarian cancer xenografts grown subcutaneously in nude mice were characterized. The tumor lines represented 5 histological subtypes: serous, mucinous, clear-cell carcinoma, carcinosarcoma and undifferentiated. |
