Specificity | This antibody recognizes and binds Fc-gamma receptor IIa (FcγRIIa) or CD32a and, more particularly, the FcγRIIa-H131 allotype. |
Alternative Name | CDw32; Fc-gamma RII-a; FcγRIIa; FcγRII; FcRII-a; FCGR2A; FcgammaRIIa- H131; IgG Fc receptor II-a; Low affinity immunoglobulin gamma Fc region receptor II-a |
UniProt | P12318 |
Immunogen | The original antibody was generated by immunizing Human Ig-Tg (Co7) mice with FcgammaRIIa-H131 conjugated to human serum albumin in complete Freund’s adjuvant. |
Application Notes | MDE-9 was able to detect FcgammaRIIa-H131 in both flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry. MDE-9 bound FcgRIIa-H131 on cell lines expressing FcgRIIaH131, as well as on peripheral blood monocytic cells and PMN in immunofluorescence assays. MDE-9 was used to develop an FcgammaRIIa allotyping method based on flow cytometry. The results of flow cytometric FcgammaRIIa allotyping correlated completely with PCR genotyping. This novel allotyping assay can facilitate the screening of patients in a routine diagnostic setting. A combination of MDE-9 and mAb 41H16 can be used in FcgammaRIIa-H/H131 homozygous individuals to detect FcgammaRIIa and FcgammaRIIb surface expression on monocytes (PMID: 15604023). |
