Application Notes | Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus (CaLas) is the pathogen that causes citrus Huanglongbing (HLB), the most serious disease of citrus. The paper describes the development of single chain variable fragment (scFv) antibodies against surface proteins of ‘Ca. Liberibacter asiaticus’ as potential diagnostic methods. A primary library of recombinant single chain variable fragment antibody was developed and the library was screened for antibodies that bind to specifically-chosen proteins that are present on the surface of CaLas. In particular, dot blot identified FlhA as a protein which is expressed on the surface of CaLas and ELISA result showed the antibody 1199 binds Flha (A450=0.26) (PMID 26744234). |
