From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | ELISA, FC |
Species Reactivity | Human |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody binds human IL-2. In particular, the antibody binds IL-2 dorsolaterally, with an angle of 55° counterclockwise to the vertical axis, contacting the C- and B-helices of IL-2 and thereby forming a “clamp” around the C-helix. The antibody engages IL-2 residues D84, N88, V91, E61, E68, and K64. |
Alternative Name | IL2; IL-2; TCGF; Interleukin-2; T-cell growth factor; Aldesleukin |
UniProt | P60568 |
Immunogen | The original antibody was generated immunizing Balb/c mice with human IL-2. |
Application Notes | This antibody binds to Interleukin-2, a protein produced by T-cells in response to antigenic or mitogenic stimulation. IL-2/UFKA-20 complex shows an improved selectivity towards regulatory T cells compared to IL-2 alone. IL-2/UFKA-20 can recognize the receptor IL of regulatory T cells on the base of the presence of CD25, therefore called CD25 bias. IL-2/UFKA-20 complex is able to efficiently stimulate CD25+ Treg cells in mice and rhesus macaques in vivo as well as in humans ex vivo. |

Note on publication | The authors identified a anti-human IL-2 antibody which was particularly efficient in delivering IL-2 to cells expressing trimeric IL-2Rs. Further IL-2/UFKA-20 complex, crystal structure, mechanism of action are described. |
