Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody recognises human immunoglobulin. |
Alternative Name | Ig; immunoglobulin molecule; NH3/17.40.2 |
UniProt | |
Immunogen | This antibody was raised by immunising Balb/c mice with whole IgG fraction and subsequent hybridoma cells formation. |
Application Notes | This antibody was shown to have a high avidity to human immunoglobulin having a high titre, comparable to a corresponding rabbit polyclonal antibody, when tested against anti-D sensitised cells (Downie et al., 1983). Thorne et al. (1984) mentions that this antibody was also successful in immunoprecipitation in agar or solution (M. Spitz, unpublished results). Finally, this antibody was capable of detecting IgGs via Western blot from native gels run under acidic conditions (Thorpe et al., 1984). |
