Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody binds human p63. It acts as a sequence specific DNA binding transcriptional activator or repressor. It is also involved in notch signaling by probably inducing JAG1 and JAG2 and plays a role in the regulation of epithelial morphogenesis. The p63 molecule has a high degree of structural homology with p53 and has three similar functional domains: N-terminal transcription activation region, core DNA binding region, and C-terminal oligomerization region. |
Alternative Name | TP63; CUSP; Tumor protein 63; chronic ulcerative stomatitis protein; Keratinocyte transcription factor KET; Transformation-related protein 63; Tumor protein p73-like; p73L; p40; p51; 4A4 |
UniProt | Q9H3D4 |
Immunogen | The original antibody was generated by immunizing 4-6 weeks old female BALB/c mice with recombinant human p63 protein having a histidine tag. |
Application Notes | This antibody is highly similar to commercially available antibody 4A4 in immunohistochemical staining of p63. This antibody was used for the immunohistochemical staining of prostate cancer and breast cancer tissues. This binding specificity and affinity of this antibody was determined using ELISA. The original IgG1 antibody is reported to bind human p63 with an affinity constant of 2.47 X 10^9 M^(-1). Purified 60738-10D8 antibody can specifically detect p63 recombinant protein in western blot.
