Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody specifically recognizes vimentin phosphorylation at Ser33, a C kinase phosphorylation site. |
Alternative Name | |
UniProt | P31000 |
Immunogen | The original antibody was generated by immunizing BDF1 mice with keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH) coupled PV33 — a synthesized vimentin peptide containing the ser33 phosphorylation — (PV33-KLH) emulsified in complete Freund's adjuvant. |
Application Notes | This antibody is specific to the C kinase phosphorylated vimentin Ser33 residue, as determined by ELISA, can detect the activity of endogenous CAM kinase II astrocytes, as detected by WB, and was used for ICC (IF) to detect C kinase phosphorylated vimentin Ser33 in type 1 astrocytes extracted from newborn rats' cerebral cortices (Ogawara et al., 1995; PMID: 7490282). This antibody was used for: in vivo vimentin kinase activity visualization of vimentin kinase activity in cell signaling or mitosis (Goto et al., 1998; PMID: 9565595), IHC-p and IF staining of human glioma cells (Fujita et al., 2004; PMID: 15597762), and as a positive control in a WB for vimentin ser55 phosphorylation (Yamaguchi et al., 2005; PMID: 16260496). |

Note on publication | The original publication prepared YT33 to investigate the signaling pathways of C kinase to vimentin. |
