Specificity | This antibody is specific for the SSINEEITPRRQS epitope of BCR (residues 686-696), and as such is able to recognise full-length BCR and the p210 form of the BCR-ABL fusion protein. p210 BCR-ABL is a cytogenetic marker of chronic myelogenous leukaemia, resulting from gross chromosomal translocation resulting in the 'Philadelphia chromosome'. The fusion protein is a constitutively active tyrosine kinase, causing deregulated downstream signalling and increasing likelihood of oncogenic transformation. |

Immunogen | Murine antibodies were produced by immunising BALB/c mice with residues 686-696 (SSINEEITPRRQS) of human BCR fused to thyroglobulin. Hybridomas were generated by fusion of immunised cells with the myeloma cell line P3X63Ag8 via established methods. |
Application Notes | It has been shown by Western blot that 7c6 binds wildtype, full-length BCR and the p210 BCR-ABL fusion protein. |
