Key features and details | |
Cat. No. | MABL-186 |
Name | Anti-Kv4.2 potassium channel mAbs |
Clone No. | AFD-L28/4R |
From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | WB, IF |
Species Reactivity | Rat, Human, Mouse |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody is specific for the Kv4.2 potassium channel antigen. This protein is a voltage- gated potassium channel that mediates transmembrane potassium transport in excitable membranes, primarily in the brain, but also in rodent heart. It mediates the major part of the dendritic A-type current I(SA) in brain neurons. |
Alternative Name | Potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily D member 2; Kcnd2; RK5; Shal1; Voltage-gated potassium channel subunit Kv4.2; L28/4 |
UniProt | Q63881 |
Immunogen | This antibody was raised by immunizing a mouse with fusion protein amino acids 471-630 (cytoplasmic C-terminus) of rat Kv4.2. |
Application Notes | Immunofluorescence was preformed on Cells expressing DPPX-S, Kv4.2, and/or KChIPs with this antibody (Seikel and Trimmer, 2009; PMID:19441798). Cardiac myocytes from mice were immunostained with this antibody (Kilfoil et al, 2019; PMID:31639389). Mouse left ventricular tissue lysates were immunoblotted with this antibody (Kilfoil et al, 2019; PMID:31639389). |
Antibody First Published | Seikel and Trimmer Convergent modulation of Kv4.2 channel alpha subunits by structurally distinct DPPX and KChIP auxiliary subunits Biochemistry. 2009 Jun 23;48(24):5721-30 PMID:19441798 |
Note on publication | The convergent roles that DPPX-S and KChIPs play as component subunits of Kv4.2 channel complexes were characterized. |
