Key features and details | |
Cat. No. | MABL-185 |
Name | Anti-Cavbeta2 Ca2+ channel mAbs |
Clone No. | AFD-N8B/1R |
From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | IF |
Species Reactivity | Rat, Human, Mouse |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody is specific for the Cavbeta2 Ca2+ channel antigen. It does not cross-react with Cavβ1, Cavβ3, Cavβ4. The beta subunit of voltage-dependent calcium channels contributes to the function of the calcium channel by increasing peak calcium current, shifting the voltage dependencies of activation and inactivation, modulating G protein inhibition and controlling the alpha-1 subunit membrane targeting. |
Alternative Name | Calcium channel voltage-dependent subunit beta 2; Cacnb2; Voltage- dependent L-type calcium channel subunit beta-2; N8B/1 |
UniProt | A0A0G2JSZ0 |
Immunogen | This antibody was raised by immunizing a mouse with the rat Cavbeta2 Ca2+ channel antigen. |
Application Notes | Immunofluorescence was preformed with this antibody on neurons from mice (Held et al, 2020; PMID:32616470). This antibody was used for immunofluorescence on rat neurons (Ortiz-miranda et al, 2010; PMID:20509142). |
Antibody First Published | Ortiz-Miranda et al. Differential Modulation of N-Type Calcium Channels by m-Opioid Receptors in Oxytocinergic Versus Vasopressinergic Neurohypophysial Terminals J Cell Physiol. 2010 Oct;225(1):276-88. PMID:20509142 |
Note on publication | The underlying basis for AVP’s weaker inhibition by MOR activation is described and a more complete explanation of the complicated effects on neuropeptide release is provided. |
