Cat. No. | MABL-271 |
Name | Anti-Peripherin mAbs |
Clone No. | AFD-H184 |
From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | IF |
Species Reactivity | Rat, Human, Mouse |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody binds mouse peripherin, but also cross reacts with human and rat peripherin.Peripherin is a type III intermediate filament protein expressed mainly in neurons of the peripheral nervous system. |
Alternative Name | PRPH; PRPH1 |
UniProt | P15331 |
Immunogen | The original hybridoma was generated by fusing islet-infiltrating B lymphocytes collected from F1(NODxNOR) mouse developing insulitis and the NS-1 myeloma cell line in polyethylene glycol (PEG). |
Application Notes | This antibody was used for the immunofluorescence staining of peripherin from cryosections (5 um) of pancreata from NOD.RAG-2/ mice, Sprague Dawley rats, and human cadaveric organ donors. The reactivity of this antibody towards several NOD.RAG-2/ mouse organs was also determined using immunofluorescence staining (PMID: 15616012). |
Antibody First Published | Carrillo et al. Anti-peripherin B lymphocytes are positively selected during diabetogenesis. Mol Immunol. 2008 Jun;45(11):3152-62. PMID:18433871 |
Note on publication | The original publication describes the generation of hybridoma cell lines of islet- infiltrating B-cells from mice with type 1 diabetes and diabetes-resistant mice, and the characterization of the tissue specificity of the antibodies produced by these hybridomas. |
