Key features and details | |
Cat. No. | MABL-836 |
Name | Anti-CD257 (BAFF) mAbs |
Clone No. | AFD- ABL-1 |
From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | WB, ELISA |
Species Reactivity | Human |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody binds human BAFF protein. B-cell-activating factor (BAFF/CD257) is a cytokine belonging to the tumour-necrosis factor (TNF) family. This cytokine binds to TNFRSF13B/TACI, TNFRSF17/BCMA, and TNFRSF13C/BAFF-R. BAFF is a survival factor for B cells that controls B-cell maturation. It is also involved in the stimulation of B- and T-cell function and the regulation of humoral immunity. |
Alternative Name | BLyS; TNFSF13B; TALL-1; TNFSF20; ZTNF4; Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 13B; B lymphocyte stimulator; B-cell-activating factor; Dendritic cell-derived TNF-like molecule; TNF and APOL-related leukocyte expressed ligand 1 |
UniProt | Q9Y275 |
Immunogen | The original antibody was generated by immunizing mice with human BAFF protein. |
Application Notes | This antibody binds recombinant human BAFF (amino acids A134-L285) with a binding affinity of 0.9 X 10^(-8) M. This antibody does not cross react with APRIL protein. This antibody was also capable of detecting native and recombinant forms of human BAFF protein in a western blot assay (PMID: 16023370). |
