Specificity | This antibody binds human BAFF protein. B-cell-activating factor (BAFF/CD257) is a cytokine belonging to the tumour-necrosis factor (TNF) family. This cytokine binds to TNFRSF13B/TACI, TNFRSF17/BCMA, and TNFRSF13C/BAFF-R. BAFF is a survival factor for B cells that controls B-cell maturation. It is also involved in the stimulation of B- and T-cell function and the regulation of humoral immunity. |

Application Notes | This VHH antibody binds human BLyS with a moderate binding affinity of Kd= 3.18E-06M. The inhibitory activity of this activity of this antibody to precent binding of BLyS to its receptors BCMA and TACI was evaluated using ELISA in a competitive inhibition assay. This antibody was also capable of inhibiting BLyS stimulated proliferation of Raji cells (CN104804091). |
