Immunogen | The original antibody was generated by immunizing mice with the T cell receptor complex (TCR/CD3) isolated from canine thymocytes. |
Application Notes | This antibody was used as an immune phenotype marker in flow cytometric (FC) analyses of peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) in dogs to identify T cells (specifically, CD3) (Helfand et al., 1995; PMID: 7605993). Later, it was used for immunophenotyping by FC to identify T-cell antigen CD3 in dogs with lymphocytosis (McDonough et al., 2000; PMID: 11105953) and as a T-lymphocyte marker in blood and bone marrow samples from dogs with hematologic disorders (Weiss, 2001; PMID: 11817066). It was also used in FC analysis of various cell populations, including peripheral blood and lymph nodes, to identify CD3+ T cells in a study on apoptosis (Pappalardoa et al., 2001; PMID: 11730925). Most recently, it was used to stain leukocytes for analysis by FC as part of a Canine leukocyte suppression assay (LSA) (Amorim et al., 2020; PMID: 32698861), to identify CD3 in fine-needle aspirates of canine nodal lymphomas (Rigillo et al., 2021; PMID: 33759339), and to stain CD3 on canine peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) (Ruiz et al., 2022; PMID: 36217551). |
Antibody First Published | Moore et al. Development of monoclonal antibodies to canine T cell receptor complex (TCR/CD3) and their utilization in the diagnosis of T cell neoplasia Vet Pathol. 1993 Dec; 30:457 [Abstract 117] |
Note on publication | The original publication discusses the creation of monoclonal antibodies specific to the T cell receptor complex (TCR/CD3) of dogs, and their use to diagnose T cell neoplasia in dogs — specifically, epidermotropic lymphoma (mycosis fungoides or MF). |
