Cat. No.
MABL-1360
Application
Blocking, inhibition, WB, ELISA, FC
Isotype
Engineer antibody
Species Reactivity
Human
Clone No.
2C3
From
Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
The antibody specifically binds to the pentapeptide FEDVW of the Duffy Antigen Receptor for Chemokines (DARC). The epitope is located on the N-terminal region on the RBC surface membrane. DARC is a glycoprotein chemokine receptor and the only known receptor for Plasmodium vivax.
Alternative Names
Fy6; Duffy Antigen Receptor for Chemokines; NaM185-2C3
UniProt
Q4VBN9
Immunogen
CHO cells transfected with cDNA encoding the Duffy glycoprotein.
Application Notes
The original antibody (mouse IgG1) was generated and used successfully in ELISA, FC, and inhibition assays, blocking DARC and IL-8 binding. The antibody's epitope was also characterized (Wasniowska et al., 2002; PMID: 12164140). This antibody was successfully used in a WB (Czerwinski et al., 2007 (PMID: 17382291); Smolarek et al., 2015 (PMID: 25706384)). This antibody was successfully used to inhibit P. Vivax invasion (Russell et al., 2011 (PMID: 21768300); Urusova et al., 2019 (PMID: 31133752)).
