Key features and details | |
Cat. No. | MABL-896 |
Name | Anti-CD35 mAbs |
Clone No. | AFD- HB-8592 |
From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | IA assay, in vivo, ELISA, FC, IF |
Species Reactivity | Chimpanzee, Baboon, Rhesus monkey, Human, Cynomolgus Monkey, Mouse |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody is specific for Human CR1 but does not compete with clones 7G9 or E11; it binds to a site distinct from the C3b binding site and can be used to measure the number of receptors despite occupancy by ligand. This antibody cross-reacts with Chimpanzee, Baboon, Rhesus, and Cynomolgus monkey CR1. The scFv version of this antibody reacted with Mouse CR1. |
Alternative Name | CR1; C3BR; C4BR; HB8592; HB 8592; MoAb 543 |
UniProt | P17927 |
Immunogen | The original antibody was generated by immunizing mice with purified CR1 from human erythrocytes. |
Application Notes | This antibody has been used for the analysis of the expression of the CR1 receptor on macrophages isolated from the peritoneal effluents of CAPD patients with peritonitis and human leukemia- derived CD4+ T cell lines by flow cytometry (Hart et al., 1992; PMID: 1606734) (Yaskanin and Waxman, 1995; PMID: 7758124). This antibody was used in immune adherence (IA) binding and release assays (Edberg et al., 1992; PMID: 1376254). This antibody was used in in vivo clearance experiments (Taylor et al., 1997; PMID: 9000042). An scFv version of this antibody was generated, its pharmacokinetics were evaluated, and it was shown to bind mouse mixed lymphocytes and bone marrow-derived dendritic cells in an ELISA and to bind CR1-expressing mouse bone marrow-derived dendritic cells via immunofluorescence labeling (Knight et al., 2008; PMID: 18385459). |
Antibody First Published | Hart et al. Peritoneal macrophages during peritonitis. Phenotypic studies. Clin Exp Immunol. 1992 Jun;88(3):484-91. doi: 10.1111/j.1365-2249.1992.tb06476.x. PMID:1606734 |
Note on publication | Macrophage phenolypicprofile was compared with that of normal peripheral blood monocytes, anticipating that the phenotypic profile reflects the functional activity of the cell. |
