Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
This antibody is specific for unesterified homogalacturonan. Homogalacturonan is expressed prefominantly in the cell wall.
Alternative Names

Immunogen
The rat version of this antibody was raised by immunizing a wister rat with a polysaccharide.
Application Notes
To characterize this antibody, an ELISA was performed on different pectins using the original rat version of this antibody. Furthermore, indirect immunofluorescence was performed on tobacco stem pith parenchyma using the rat version of this antibody (Verhertbruggen et al, 2009; pmid:19144326). To investigate the processing of pectin in fruit and vegetable tissue, an immunoblot was performed on pectin samples using the rat version of this antibody, Furthermore, raw and thermally treated broccoli pith parenchyma were stained for immunofluorescence using this antibody (Christiaens et al, 2011). Cell walls of Burlat and Samba sweet cherry cultivars were stained for immunofluorescence using the rat version of this antibody to study cracking in apple cultivars (Schumann et al, 2019; pmid:31365556). To determine the distribution of AGPs and pectic polysaccharides contained in apple fruit during senescence, immunocytochemistry was performed on different tissues from the cultivar Gala Must using the rat version of this antibody (Leszczuk et al, 2019; pmid:30007326). To study the localization of homogalacturonan, immunogold labelling was performed on three-month-old hybrid aspen tissue using the rat version of this antibody (Kim and Daniel, 2013).
