From
Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
This antibody recognizes and binds human interleukin-5, a key cytokine expressed predominantly by T-lymphocytes and NK cells that plays an important role in the survival, differentiation, maturation, recruitment, activation and chemotaxis of eosinophils.
Alternative Names
IL5; Interleukin-5; B-cell differentiation factor I; Eosinophil differentiation factor; T-cell replacing factor; TRF; CDP-835; CDP835; h39D10; JES1-39D10; SCH55700
UniProt

Immunogen
The original antibody was generated by immunizing New Zealand white rabbits with recombinant human IL-5 protein.
Application Notes
The original rabbit IgG antibody binds human IL-5 with a high affinity and has a dissociation constant (Kd) of 3.06 X 10^(-10) M. A combination of 16D2 and 24A10 can be used in a double antibody sandwich ELISA, where 16D2 is used as a capture antibody and 24A10 is used as a detection antibody. The sensitivity of human IL-5 detection for this pair was reported to be 0.885pg/mL (CN115819578).
