Specificity
This antibody binds human IL-6. Interleukin-6 is a multifunctional cytokine which regulates immune responses, hematopoiesis, tissue regeneration, and inflammatory reactions. Dysregulation of IL-6 is known to be involved in the inflammatory pathways of several autoimmune disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, Castleman's syndrome, idiopathic juvenile arthritis, neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder, autoimmune epilepsy and others.

The original antibody was generated by immunizing New Zealand white rabbits with recombinant human IL-6 protein.
Application Notes
The original rabbit IgG antibody binds human IL-6 with a high affinity and has a dissociation constant (Kd) of 7.80 X 10 ^(-10) M. A combination of AbAb01-IL6 and AbAb02-IL6 can be used in a double antibody sandwich ELISA, where AbAb01-IL6 is used as a capture antibody and AbAb02-IL6 is used as a detection antibody. The sensitivity of IL-6 detection for this pair was reported to be 10pg/ml (10ng/L) (CN112175080).
