From
Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
This antibody is specific for fish parvalbumin. Its epitope is IKKAFAVID. In muscle, parvalbumin is thought to be involved in relaxation after contraction. It binds two calcium ions.
Alternative Names
Parvalbumin; PRV7; 3E1
UniProt
E3TEC5
Immunogen
The mouse version of this antibody was raised by immunizing a mouse with heat-treated catfish sarcoplasmic protein extract.
Application Notes
Both a western blot and an ELISA were performed on fish proteins using the mouse version of this antibody to characterize the binding of this antibody (Gajewski and Hsieh, 2009; pmid:19435232). To study relationships among matrix effect, extractability, and thermostability during in vitro immunodetection, a western blot was performed on both crude fish extract and purified parvalbumin (Keshavarz et al, 2019; pmid:30372974). To analyse the immunochemical properties of pepsin digested tropomyosin peptide fragments from Atlantic salmon and flathead grey mullet, a western blot was performed on purified parvalbumin (Keshavarz et al, 2020).
