From
Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
This antibody can bind the TP47 protein of Treponema pallidum which is the causative agent for Syphilis. TP47 protein is a D,D-carboxypeptidase, that releases amino acids sequentially from a proteins C-terminus. Syphilis is a bacterial infection, transmitted through sexual contact and characterized by sores, grey warty growth and rashes on sexual organs, mouth, lips, hands and feet. Early stage Syphilis can be cured using penicillin. Without treatment Syphilis can cause damage to heart, brain or other organs and can sometimes even be life-threatening.
Alternative Names
Putative DD-carboxypeptidase TP_0574; 47 kDa lipoprotein; 47 kDa membrane antigen; 47-kilodalton major integral membrane immunogen; Syphilis
UniProt

Immunogen
The original antibody was generated by immunizing BALB/c mice with recombinant Treponema pallidum membrane protein Tp47.
Application Notes
This antibody can be used for the qualitative detection of Treponema pallidum TP47 protein using western blot. This antibody can also be used for the detection of Tp47 protein using ELISA. This antibody was also used in the generation of immune chromatography colloidal gold test strip for detection of the membrane protein Tp47 of Treponema pallidum (CN110078822).
