Immunogen | This original antibody was raised by immunizing a L-selectin deficient mouse with L-selectin. |
Application Notes | The original antibody was used for flow cytometry on Holstein calve and sheep leukocytes (Leid et al., 2001; PMID:11290767), on EDTA-anticoagulated guinea pig blood (Fryer et al., 1997; PMID:9109449), an d on plasma samples from rats (Yan et al., 2000; PMID:10803628). This antibody was used for immunoprecipitation of L-selectin from bovine lymphocyte lysates (Leid et al., 2001; PMID:11290767), and on RBL cells (Haribabu et al., 1997; PMID:9153259). This antibody was used to test the effect of the antibody on NF-kappa B activation. It was shown that this antibody could indeed activate NF-kappa B in neutrophils (Turutin et al., 2003; PMID:12586371). This antibody was used for immunohistochemistry on a rat endometriosis model and on tissues of human endometriosis. This antibody was able to show the localization of the protein (Odagiri et al., 2007; PMID:17482182). This antibody was used for immunofluorescence on RBL cells where it showed staining like expected (Haribabu et al., 1997; PMID:9153259). |
Antibody First Published | Steeber et al. Ligation of L-selectin through conserved regions within the lectin domain activates signal transduction pathways and integrin function in human, mouse, and rat leukocytes J Immunol. 1997 Jul 15;159(2):952-63. PMID:9218616 |
Note on publication | Since ligation of L-selectin through its ligand recognition region may mimic physiologic ligand binding, the original paper generated a new panel of mAbs that engaged a conserved ligand-binding region within the lectin domains of human, mouse, and rat L-selectin. |
