Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody recognises intracellular C-terminus of human and murine CD79b which is part of the B-cell antigen receptor which constitutes a disulphide linked heterodimer, consisting of CD79a (mb1) and CD79b / B29 polypeptides which are non-covalently associated with membrane bound immunoglobulins on B-cells. |
Alternative Name | B-cell antigen receptor complex-associated protein beta chain; B-cell- specific glycoprotein B29; Ig-beta; Immunoglobulin-associated B29 protein; B29; IGBAGM6; B29 123 |
UniProt | P40259 |
Immunogen | This antibody was raised against the sequence G-E-V-K-W-S-V-G-E-H-P-G-Q-E, representing the carboxy-terminus, from amino acid 215 on, of the human and murine B29 polypeptides. |
Application Notes | This antibody is recommended for the immunohistochemical and Western blot investigation of B-cells and their cancers which express CD79b. B29/123 antibody recognises specifically CD79b protein whose expression pattern during B-cell development is distinct from CD79a. Consequently, this antibody might be utilised in the investigation of processes associated with characteristic CD79b expression. For instance, one group used it in the immunofluorescence staining of WEHI231 cells transduced with LAPTM5-IRES-GFP in a study on B-cell activation (Ouchida et al., 2010). |
