Basic Information | |
Specificity | The antibody is specific for CD8. |
Alternative Name | CD8a; T-cell surface glycoprotein CD8 alpha chain; T-cell surface glycoprotein CD8 alpha chain; T-lymphocyte differentiation antigen T8/Leu-2 |
UniProt | P01732 |
Immunogen | The original antibody was generated by immunizing mice with CD1d. |
Application Notes | The antibody could block HLA-A2.1-mediated binding to CD8α(+) expressed on CHO cells (Norment et al, 1988; PMID: 3263576). The antibody could also block TLA-mediated binding (Teitell et al., 1991; PMID: 1834760). The antibody was used to localize CD8α to the cell periphery on monocytes using confocal microscopy of permeabilized PBMC. The antibody could detect CD8α by flow cytometry on CD14hi monocytes from human peripheral blood (Gibbings et al. 2007; PMID: 17678538). |
