Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody is specific for CD8. It is not specific to humans |
Alternative Name | CD8a; T-lymphocyte differentiation antigen T8/Leu-2; T-cell surface glycoprotein CD8 alpha chain |
UniProt | P01732 |
Immunogen | The original antibody was raised by immunizing a mouse with human CD8. |
Application Notes | The original antibody was used for flow cytometry on blood lymphocytes (Arab et al., 2015; PMID:25926938, Langermans et al., 2000; PMID:11168830), and on PMBCs form chimpanzees, rhesus macaques and squirrel monkeys (Ozwara et al., 1997; PMID:9379483). The antibody was used for immunofluorescence on human PBMCs (Langermans et al., 2000; PMID:11168830). This antibody was used for immunohistochemistry on paraffin embedded tumor sections (Lin et al., 2020; PMID:31690181). |
Antibody First Published | Ozwara et al. Flow cytometric analysis on reactivity of human T lymphocyte- specific and cytokine-receptorspecific antibodies with peripheral blood mononuclear cells of chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes), rhesus macaque (Macaca mulatta), and squirrel monkey (Saimiri sciureus) J Med Primatol. 1997 Jun;26(3):164-71. PMID:9379483 |
Note on publication | In the original paper they identified a large number of mAb that can be used in future immunological studies in three different nonhuman primates, i.e., chimpanzees, rhesus macaques, and squirrel monkeys. |
