Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody is specific for digoxigenin A. Digoxigenin (DIG) is a hydroxy steroid that consists of 5beta-cardanolide, found exclusively in the flowers and leaves of the plants Digitalis purpurea, Digitalis orientalis and Digitalis lanata. It is a hapten, a small molecule with high antigenicity, that is used in many molecular biology applications. |
Alternative Name | Digoxigenin; DOG; DIG; ChEBI: 42098; CAS:1672-46-4 |
UniProt | |
Immunogen | The original antibody was generated by immunizing mice with digoxin conjugated to human serum albumin. |
Application Notes | This antibody can be used for the detection of digoxigenin via ELISA. This antibody was also used for the generation of bispecific antibodies that bind cell-surface targets as well as digoxigenin (Dig) for targeted payload delivery (PMID: 21536919). |
