Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody is specific for digoxigenin A. Digoxigenin (DIG) is a hydroxy steroid that consists of 5beta-cardanolide, found exclusively in the flowers and leaves of the plants Digitalis purpurea, Digitalis orientalis and Digitalis lanata. It is a hapten, a small molecule with high antigenicity, that is used in many molecular biology applications. |
Alternative Name | Digoxigenin; DigA; DOG; ChEBI: 42098; CAS:1672-46-4 |
UniProt | |
Immunogen | The original antibody was isolated from a IgM-derived scFv phage antibody library created from the peripheral blood lymphocytes of 20 non-immunized doners. The specific clone was isolated by panning the library against digoxigenin. |
Application Notes | The binding specificity of this antibody for digoxigenin was checked using ELISA. This antibody did not bind digoxigenin coupled by a methylcarbonyl (Dig-Met) or succinyl (Dig-Suc) type linker to BSA (PMID: 9305722). |
