Immunogen | The original antibody was raised by immunizing a Balb/c mouse with Membrane-enriched fractions of ~5x 10^10 human Raji cells affinity purified on rhuIFN-y coupled to Affigel-10. |
Application Notes | The original antibody was used for a radioimmunoassay on 125I-labeled rhuIFN-gamma (Aguet et al., 1987; PMID:2435837, Bridges et al., PMID:8738212). This antibody was able to immunoprecipitate huIFN-gamma from lysates of enriched Raji cell membranes (Aguet et al, 1987; PMID:2435837). The structure of the original antibody was determined using x-ray crystallography (Sogabe et al., 1997; PMID:9367779, Hofstädter et al., 1999; PMID:9878445). The scFv version of this antibody was used for surface plasmon resonance on intact IFNyR (Bridges et al., PMID:8738212, Hofstädter et al., 1999; PMID:9878445). |
Antibody First Published | Aguet and Merlin. Purification of human gamma interferon receptors by sequential affinity chromatography on immobilized monoclonal antireceptor antibodies and human gamma interferon J Exp Med. 1987 Apr 1;165(4):988-99. PMID:2435837 |
Note on publication | In the original paper mAbs against human IFN-gamma (huIFN-gamma) receptors were obtained by immunizing a BALB/c mouse with eluates from immobilized recombinant huIFN-gamma (rhuIFN-gamma) on which lysates of enriched Raji cell membranes had been adsorbed. |
