Key features and details | |
Cat. No. | MABL-2552 |
Name | Anti-OspA mAbs |
Clone No. | AFD- LA-2 |
From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | IP, NTRL, WB, IF |
Species Reactivity | Borrelia burgdorferi |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | Recognises the three surface-exposed loops of the C-terminal domain of OspA that are on the tip of the elongated molecule most distant from the lipid-modified N-terminus. The residues involved in these loops are: 203-220, 224-233, and 246-257. |
Alternative Name | Outer surface protein A |
UniProt | P0A3N6 |
Immunogen | This antibody was generated by immunising mice. |
Application Notes | LA-2 binds to Borrelia Burgdorferi, the causative agent of Lyme disease (Borreliosis) has been used in serological analyses of B. burgdorferi isolates by immuno-blotting and immunofluorescence (Kramer et al, 1990). This antibody has also been applied to affinity purification of OspA. This antibody neutralised B. burgdorferi infectivity when passively transferred to SCID mice (Schaible et al, 1990). |
Antibody First Published | Wilske et al. Antigenic Variability of Borrelia burgdorferi Ann N Y Acad Sci. 1988;539:126-43. PMID:2461135 |
Note on publication | Describes the use of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies to characterise proteins of B. burgdorferi by Western Blot. |
