Species Reactivity | |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody is specific for VIM-4 M beta L. The main epitope of this antibody is amino acid 99 to 133. |
Alternative Name | |
UniProt | |
Immunogen | The original antibody was raised by panning a dromedary phage display library against VIM-4 M beta L. |
Application Notes | The epitope of this antibody was determined using ELISA on different parts of its antigen. The ability of this antibody to inhibit VIM-4 was shown. The presence of this antibody inhibited activity of VIM-4 against imipenem, benzylpenicillin and cephalothin (Sohier et al., 2013; PMID:23289540). |
Antibody First Published | Sohier et al. Allosteric inhibition of VIM metallo-β-lactamases by a camelid nanobody Biochem J. 2013 Mar 15;450(3):477-86. PMID:23289540 |
Note on publication | The original paper used an approach on the basis of phage display was used to select single-domain antibody fragments (VHHs, also called nanobodies) that would inhibit the clinically relevant VIM (Verona integron-encoded MβL)-4 MβL. |
