Alternative Name | 733.1.4 idiotype;E2 specific feline infectious peritonitis virus-neutralizing antibody (anti-idiotype) |
UniProt | |
Immunogen | Monoclonal antibody 730.1.4. |
Application Notes | The antibody binds specifically to the antibody 730.1.4, which neutralises feline infectious peritonitis virus (FIPV). The FIPV virus causes a fatal disease that affects cats by its ability to invade and grow in macrophages, which causes an inflammatory response in the infected tissue. When injected into mice, the antibody 409.5.3 has been shown to elicit the production of 730.1.4 antibodies, thereby indirectly neutralising the virus. |

Note on publication | Describes the characterisation of the anti-idiotypic monoclonal antibody 409.5.3, which is raised against an antibody that neutralises feline infectious peritonitis virus. |
