Key features and details | |
Cat. No. | MABL-530 |
Name | Anti-BNYVV Coat Protein mAbs |
Clone No. | AFD- 14cG6 |
From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | dotblot, WB, ELISA |
Species Reactivity | BNYVV |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | Specific for epitope 4b (RTSP) which are amino acids 182-186 on the BNYVV coat protein. Binding is inhibited by large concentrations of plant material, and the epitope is readily cleaved in the presence of proteases. |
Alternative Name | Beet necrotic yellowvein virus coat protein; BNYVV CP |
UniProt | Q9YZK2 |
Immunogen | This antibody was raised by injecting purified BNYVV CP into mice. |
Application Notes | This antibody is specific for epitope 4b of the BNYVV coat protein. Its binding specificity has been confirmed in dot blots (Commandeur et al, 1994) and western blots (Fecker et al, 1996) and double antibody sandwich ELISAs using an alkaline-phosphatase fusion protein (Uhde et al, 2000). It has been expressed as a scFv construct (Fecker et al, 1996) in both E. coli and higher plants. |
Antibody First Published | Commandeur et. al. Location, Size, and Complexity of Epitopes on the Coat Protein of Beet Necrotic Yellow Vein Virus Studied by Means of Synthetic Overlapping Peptides Virology.1994 Jan;198(1):282-7. PMID:7505070 |
Note on publication | Discusses the use of antibodies to analyse the different epitopes of the BNYVV coat protein using antibodies which recognise overlapping epitopes. |
