Key features and details | |
Cat. No. | MABL-560 |
Name | Anti-BTK mAbs |
Clone No. | AFD- 10D11 |
From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | IP, WB |
Species Reactivity | Human |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody is specific for amino acids 1-175 of human BTK. It is known to bind to a 77-kD version of BTK. BTK is a non-receptor tyrosine kinase indispensable for B lymphocyte development, differentiation and signaling. |
Alternative Name | Tyrosine-protein kinase BTK; Agammaglobulinemia tyrosine kinase; ATK; B-cell progenitor kinase; BPK; Bruton tyrosine kinase |
UniProt | Q06187 |
Immunogen | This antibody was raised by immunizing a mouse with the PH domain (amino acids 1-175) of human BTK. |
Application Notes | A western blot on bkt proteins using the mouse version of this antibody has proven the specificity of this clone. The antibody recognized a 77-kD BTK. Furthermore the mouse version of this antibody allows for the immunoprecipitation of the btk protein (Bykowsky et al, 1996; pmid:8644706). |
Antibody First Published | Bykowsky et al. Discordant phenotype in siblings with X-linked agammaglobulinemia Am J Hum Genet. 1996 Mar;58(3):477-83. PMID:8644706 |
Note on publication | The current study is the first description of two male siblings with identical T134 --> C mutations in the translation initiation ATG of Btk who have different clinical phenotypes. |
