Species Reactivity | canine, Caprine, Feline, Hamster, Monkey, Rabbit, Rat, Xenopus, Zebrafish, Human, Mouse |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | The original antibody is specific for cardiotin. Cardiotin is a mitochondrion-associated protein, which is present in cardiomyocytes and skeletal muscle. |
Alternative Name | |
UniProt | |
Immunogen | The original antibody was generated by immunizing a mouse with a total protein extract of chicken gizzard. |
Application Notes | The antibody could detect cardiotin on microsomal swine heart samples by western blot analysis (Schaart et al., 1997; PMID: 9042960). The antibody revealed cardiotin in the longitudinal sarcoplasmic reticulum in normal atrial myocardium of goats in sinus rhythm by immunofluorescence staining (Ausma et al., 1997; PMID: 9327732). The antibody recognized cardiotin in cardiomyocytes by immunocytochemistry (Dispersyn et al., 2001; PMID: 11470462). The antibody was employed in immunohistochemistry for the detection of cardiotin (Dispersyn et al., 2002; PMID: 12042006 and Ausma et al. 2001; PMID: 11735256). |
