Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
This antibody binds an enzyme called indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1 (IDO1). This molecule catalyzes the first and rate limiting step of the catabolism of the essential amino acid tryptophan along the kynurenine pathway. It is involved in the peripheral immune tolerance, contributing to maintain homeostasis by preventing autoimmunity or immunopathology that would result from uncontrolled and overreacting immune responses. It acts as a suppressor of anti-tumor immunity. IDO1 is the target for therapy in a range of clinical settings, including cancer, chronic infections, autoimmune and allergic syndromes, and transplantation. Elevated IDO1 expression is a hallmark of major viral and bacterial infections.
Alternative Names

Immunogen
The original antibody was generated by immunizing mice with recombinant human IDO1 protein.
Application Notes
This antibody can bind human IDO1 in an ELISA. The original mouse IgG1 antibody binds human IDO1 with an affinity constant of 7.68 X 10^(9) M^(-1). This antibody can be used for the immunohistochemical analysis of various normal and cancerous human tissues like lymph node cells and Hodgkin's lymphoma tissues. The immunohistochemical staining pattern of this antibody is similar to another anti-IDO1 antibody EPR20374 (CN113045667).
