Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
Thi antibody recognises haloperidol which is one of the major antipsychotic drugs. It is a D2 dopamine receptor antagonist and is widely used in treatment of schizophrenia, psychoses and mania. This antibody binds to the p-chlorophenyl ring (ring 2) of haloperidol and prefers an extended conformer of the drug molecule.
Alternative Names

UniProt
Immunogen
This antibody was raised by immunising mice with a haloperidol coupled to BSA via an aminooxyacetic acid arm through the keto group of the butyrophenone chain (oxime conjugate).
Application Notes
RIA: radioligand binding assays were performed to asses binding affinity of the anti- haloperidol D antibody (Kd=4.4 nM). This antibody possesses a binding site which is highly sensitive to the electron-withdrawing characteristics of the substituents on ring 2 (Sherman et al., 1986).
