From
Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
This antibody is specific for the ectodomain of the Kv4.2 potassium channel. It does not react with Kv4.3 and Kv4.1.
Alternative Names
K57/1R; Potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily D member 2; Voltage-gated potassium channel subunit Kv4.2; Kcnd2; Kiaa1044; MNCb-7013; RK5; Shal1
UniProt

Immunogen
This antibody was raised by immunising BALB/c mice with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the extracellular S1-S2 loop (amino acids 209-225) of human Kv4.2, where the third Ser was substituted in place of a Cys for peptide conjugation purposes.
Application Notes
This antibody has been used in immunoblot analysis of crude membranes from rat and mouse brain (Andrews et al, 2019; PMID:30667360), as well as crude C. elegans extracts (Andrews et al, 2019; PMID:30667360) and lysates of COS-1 cells transfected to express Kv4.2 (Shibata et al, 2003). It has also been used in immunohistochemical analysis of adult rat and mouse brain sections (Sack et al, 2013; Andrews et al, 2019; PMID:30667360), and immunofluorescence analysis of surface Kv4.2 expression by Kv4.2-transfected COS-1 cells (Shibata et al, 2003). Using ELISA, pre-incubation with soluble Kv4.2 peptide has been shown to block the binding of this antibody to its antigen (Sack et al, 2013). This antibody, when labelled with gold, has been used in electron microscopy to assess endogenous Kv4.2 expression in rat hippocampal sections (Kim et al, 2007).
