Specificity
This antibody is specific for Stonin-2 epitope: amino acids 1-555. The antibody does not cross react with stonin-1. Stonin-2 is an adapter protein involved in endocytic machinery. Involved in the synaptic vesicle recycling. May facilitate clathrin-coated vesicle uncoating.

Immunogen
This antibody was raised by immunising BALB/c mice with a fusion protein amino acids 1-555 (N-terminus) of human Stonin-2.
Application Notes
This antibody is recommended for detection and analysis of stonin-2 by immunocytochemistry, immunohistochemistry and western blot. For instance, the mouse version of this antibody was used to detect stonin-2 by western blot in extracts of COS cells transiently transfected with HA-tagged Stonin-1, Stonin-2 or untagged Kv2.1 plasmid. Furthermore it was used to detect stonin-2 by immunocytochemistry in adult hippocampus from Stonin-2 wild-type and knockout mice.
