This antibody is specific for pan-Ankyrin. This antibody binds to both ankyrin-B and ankyrin-G. Ankyrin attaches integral membrane proteins to cytoskeletal elements.

This antibody was raised by immunising BALB/c mice with a fusion protein amino acids 1- 1881 (full-length) of human Ankyrin-R.
Application Notes
This antibody is recommended for detection and analysis of ankyrin by immunofluorescence, western blot or immunohistochemistry. For instance, the mouse version was used to detect ankyrin by western blot in t crude membranes from adult rat brain and wild-type and Ankyrin-R knockout mouse brains. Furthermore it was also used to detect ankyrin by immunohistochesmistry in adult rat brain.
