Specificity
This antibody is specific for amino acids 718-843 (intracellular C-terminus) of rat Neuroligin-1. The antibody does not cross-react with Neuroligin-2, -3, -4 or -4*. Neuroligin-1 is a cell surface protein involved in cell-cell-interactions via its interactions with neurexin family members. Plays a role in synapse function and synaptic signal transmission, and probably mediates its effects by recruiting and clustering other synaptic proteins.

This antibody was raised by immunising BALB/c mice with a fusion protein of amino acids 718-843 (intracellular C-terminus) of rat Neuroligin-1.
Application Notes
This antibody has been used for immunoblotting on neuronal cultures were from embryonic day Wistar rat brains (Binda et al, 2019; PMID:30602588). Immunocytochemistry was preformed on mouse low density hippocampal cultures using this antibody (Frei et al, 2020). An immunostaining experiment was preformed on mouse neuronal cells using this antibody (Yamagata et al, 2018; PMID:29760652). Mouse hippocampi were dissected and immunoblotted using this antibody (Hoy et al, 2013; PMID:23719805). Immunocytochemistry was preformed using cultured, E18-derived, rat hippocampal neurons using this antibody (Kim et al, 2020; PMID:32434929). This antibody was used in a immunohistochemistry experiment on mouse brain sections (Kim et al, 2020; PMID:32434929).
Immunoblotting was preformed on synaptic fractions consisting of the crude synaptosome, synaptosome and PSD fractions from 3- to 4-week-old Igsf21 +/+ and Igsf21 −/− mice of mixed sex using this antibody (Tanabe et al, 2017; PMID:28864826). A immunoprecipitation assay was preformed on rat brain homogenates using this antibody (Um et al, 2016; PMID:27002143).
