MOR131 (MOR131.5.13)
From
Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
This antibody binds morphine and cross reacts with other opioids like codeine, ethylmorphine, dihydromorphine, dihydrocodeine, dihydromorphinone, dihydrocodeinone and norcodeine. Morphine is a strong opiate that is found naturally in opium, a dark brown resin in poppies (Papaver somniferum). It is considered the classic opioid analgesic, most commonly used in pain management, morphine provides major relief to patients afflicted with pain. It is a non-synthetic narcotic with a high potential for abuse.
Alternative Names
Morphium; Codeine; Ethylmorphine; Dihydromorphine; Dihydrocodeine; Dihydromorphinone; Dihydrocodeinone; Norcodeine; ChEBI: 17303
UniProt
Immunogen
The original antibody was generated by immunizing female BALB/c mice with morphine-BSA conjugate.
Application Notes
The initial binding reactivity and cross reactivity of this antibody to morphine and other opiods was determined using ELISA and radioimmunoassay (PMID: 3211162; 8417377).
