Specificity
This antibody binds the mouse vitamin D binding protein (VDBP). This protein is involved in the transport and storage of vitamin D, scavenging of extracellular G-actin, enhancement of the chemotactic activity of C5 alpha for neutrophils in inflammation and macrophage activation.

The original antibody was generated by immunizing New Zealand white rabbits with mouse vitamin D binding protein.
Application Notes
The binding characterization of this antibody was done using ELISA. This antibody was capable of blocking vitamin D binding protein and helps avoid damage to the synaptic plasticity of neurons by restoring synaptic proteins like PSD95 and Synapsin I in mouse groups treated with this antibody. This antibody was also capable of reducing damage to the dendritic structure of neurons and protect against neuronal damage in mouse groups treated with a combination of VDBP+6A2 (CN118754982).
