Key features and details | |
Cat. No. | MABL-158 |
Name | Anti-Malin mAbs |
Clone No. | AFD-N85/18.1 |
From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | IP, WB, IHC |
Species Reactivity | Human |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody is specific for protein amino acids 1-395 (full-length) of human malin. There is no reported cross-reactivity. Malin is a E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase. Together with the phosphatase EPM2A/laforin, appears to be involved in the clearance of toxic polyglucosan and protein aggregates via multiple pathways. |
Alternative Name | N85/18.1R; E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase NHLRC1; NHLRC1; NHL repeat- containing protein 1; RING-type E3 ubiquitin transferase NHLRC1 |
UniProt | Q6VVB1 |
Immunogen | This antibody was raised by immunising BALB/c mice with a fusion of protein amino acids 1- 395 (full-length) of human malin. |
Application Notes | This antibody was used for immunoblotting on neuronal cultures of either malin or laforin deficient mice (Upadhyay et al, 2017; PMID:28063983). Immunoprecipitation experiments were preformed with this antibody on neuronal cultures of either malin or laforin deficient mice (Upadhyay et al, 2017; PMID:28063983). Neuronal cultures of either malin or laforin deficient mice were used in a immunohistochemistry experiment using this antibody (Upadhyay et al, 2017; PMID:28063983). |
Antibody First Published | Upadhyay et al. Loss of laforin or malin results in increased Drp1 level and concomitant mitochondrial fragmentation in Lafora disease mouse models Neurobiol Dis. 2017 Apr;100:39- 51. PMID:28063983 |
Note on publication | it is shown that laforin- or malin-deficient neurons and fibroblasts display a significantly higher number of fragmented mitochondria. |
