Key features and details | |
Cat. No. | MABL-209 |
Name | Anti-Snapin/SNAPAP mAbs |
Clone No. | AFD-L8/15R |
From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | ICC |
Species Reactivity | Rat, Human, Mouse |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody is specific for Snapin. Snapin is a component of the BLOC-1 complex, a complex that is required for normal biogenesis of lysosome-related organelles (LRO), such as platelet dense granules and melanosomes. In concert with the AP-3 complex, the BLOC-1 complex is required to target membrane protein cargos into vesicles assembled at cell bodies for delivery into neurites and nerve terminals. |
Alternative Name | SNARE-associated protein Snapin; SNAPIN; Biogenesis of lysosome- related organelles complex 1 subunit 7; BLOC-1 subunit 7; Synaptosomal-associated protein 25-binding protein; SNAP-associated protein; L8/15 |
UniProt | O95295 |
Immunogen | This antibody was raised against a synthetic peptide of amino acids 115-136 of human snapin. |
Application Notes | Immunocytochemistry was preformed on neurones or mouse N11 cells cultured on poly-L-lysinecoated coverslips with this antibody (Makani et al, 2013; PMID:24118254). |
Antibody First Published | Makani et al. Annexin A1 complex mediates oxytocin vesicle transport J Neuroendocrinol. 2013 Dec;25(12):1241-1254. PMID:24118254 |
Note on publication | A new molecular complex consisting of annexin A1 (ANXA1) was discovered, A- kinase anchor protein 150 (AKAP150) and microtubule motor that controls the distribution of oxytocin vesicles between the axon and the cell body in a protein kinase A (PKA)- and protein kinase C (PKC)- sensitive manner. |
